Privacy Policy

In short: Everything you create in Focusly — your tasks, habits, projects and focus history — is stored only on your own device. We operate no servers and never receive that content. If you choose to use Focusly free of charge after the trial, Google AdMob shows adverts and collects some data in order to do so. Paying the one-time unlock removes adverts entirely.

1. Who we are

2. What Focusly stores on your device

Your tasks, subtasks, projects, habits, streaks, planner entries, focus session history, reminder times and app settings are written to a database on your phone. This content is never transmitted to us and we have no ability to read it. It stays on the device unless you back it up yourself through Android's built-in backup.

3. We do not have accounts or servers

Focusly has no sign-up, no login and no cloud account. We do not operate a server that receives your content, and we do not sell or share your personal information.

4. Adverts (Google AdMob)

Focusly is free to use for 3 months. After that you choose either to pay a one-time fee to unlock the app permanently, or to keep using it free of charge with adverts. Adverts are shown only if you choose that option. During the trial, and for anyone who has paid the unlock, no adverts are shown and no advertising SDK requests are made.

When adverts are enabled, Google AdMob may collect and process:

your device's advertising identifier
approximate (non-precise) location derived from IP address
device information such as model, operating system version and language
advert interaction data, for example whether an advert was shown or tapped

This data is handled by Google, not by us, and is used to select and measure adverts and to detect fraud. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings → Google → Ads on your device, and you can opt out of personalised advertising there. Paying the one-time unlock stops adverts loading at all.

5. Purchases

The one-time unlock is processed by Google Play Billing. Your payment is handled entirely by Google — we never see or store your card details, billing address or any payment information. We receive only a confirmation that the purchase succeeded, which is recorded on your device so the app stays unlocked and can be restored on a new phone.

6. Notifications

Focusly can send you reminders for tasks and habits and a notification when a focus session ends. These are generated locally on your device. They are not push notifications and no reminder content is sent over the internet.

7. Permissions we request

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to show your reminders
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_EXACT_ALARM — so reminders arrive at the time you set
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to restore your reminders after a restart
VIBRATE, WAKE_LOCK — to alert you when a reminder fires
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — used only to load adverts and to process a purchase

8. Children

Focusly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Adverts served through AdMob are configured as non-personalised where required by law.

9. Deleting your data

Because your content lives only on your device, uninstalling Focusly, or clearing its storage under Settings → Apps → Focusly - Daily Planner → Storage, permanently removes all of it. There is nothing for us to delete on our side because we never held it.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, note it in the app's release notes.
